Privacy Policy
What Data We Collect
When you use NobBot in Twitch chat, we collect the following data:
- Song Requests: When you request a song using chat commands (e.g.,
!sr), we store your request including the song title, artist, video ID, and timestamp. - User Statistics: We aggregate your song requests to generate statistics such as:
- Total number of requests across all channels
- Top songs you've requested
- Channels where you've requested songs
- First and last request timestamps
- Twitch Profile Data: If you log in via Twitch OAuth, we store:
- Your Twitch username and display name
- Your Twitch user ID (immutable identifier)
- Your Twitch profile picture URL
- Your account creation date (from Twitch)
- Activity Data: We track when you interact with the bot or access the web dashboard, including timestamps of your activity.
How We Use Your Data
- Queue Management: Your song requests are used to manage the music queue for streamers' channels.
- Statistics: Your request data is aggregated to show statistics on your profile page (if you're logged in) and to other users (if your profile is public).
- Cooldown Tracking: We track which songs have been played to enforce cooldown rules and prevent repetition.
- Service Improvement: We use aggregated, anonymized data to improve NobBot's functionality.
Data Source
All song request data comes from public Twitch chat messages. When you use commands like !sr in a streamer's chat, that message is publicly visible to everyone in the channel. We process and store this public information to provide queue management services.
Profile Privacy
By default, your profile statistics are public, meaning anyone can view your song request statistics at /users/{username}.
You can make your profile private by logging in and changing your profile visibility settings. When your profile is private, only you can view your statistics.
Note: Making your profile private does not delete your data. It only hides your statistics from other users. Your song requests are still processed for queue management purposes.
Data Retention
We retain your song request data and statistics for as long as necessary to provide our services and maintain historical records. Cooldown records are automatically deleted after the cooldown period expires.
If you request deletion of your account or data, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, except where we are required to retain it for legal, regulatory, or operational purposes (such as maintaining queue integrity for active channels).
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: You can view your data by logging in and visiting your profile page at
/users/{username}. - Privacy Control: You can make your profile private to hide your statistics from other users.
- Deletion: You can request deletion of your personal data by contacting support. Note: Some data may be retained for legal or operational purposes (e.g., queue history for active channels).
- Correction: You can update your profile information through your account settings.
- Data Portability: You can request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
- Opt-Out: You can stop using NobBot at any time. However, data from past interactions may remain in our systems as described in the Data Retention section.
To exercise these rights, please contact us through our support channels. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We may share your data in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use third-party service providers to operate our service, including data storage, authentication, and API services. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.
- Public Profiles: If your profile is set to public, your aggregated statistics (total requests, top songs, top channels) are visible to anyone who visits your profile page.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your data if required by law, court order, or government regulation, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.
Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
